Amrut Distilleries Hosted an Intimate Soiree for Their Friends and Vir Sanghvi at JW Marriott Showcasing Their Single Malts With a Tasting Session led by Ashok Chokkalingam, World Whisky Ambassador, 2012, The Only Indian With the Honour
Amrut Distilleries Bangalore, known for their award winning single malt whiskies, recently played host to ace journalist Vir Sanghvi who visited Bangalore to taste and explore the whiskies. The management of Amrut Distilleries organized a two-day exploration for Vir with a Tasting Session held at JW Marriott by their own Ashok Chokkalingam, who is the only Indian to have won the highly prestigious 'Whisky Ambassador' award in 2012.

Connoisseurs of whisky were greeted by 3 tasting glasses, each containing Amrut Fusion (rated 3rd best whisky in the world by acclaimed whisky commentator Jim Murray in 2010), Amrut Indian Single Malt - Classic and Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt. Ashok took the audience through the steps of nosing and tasting often engaging the audience asking for what they tasted or smelt. The light hearted session was concluded with everyone acknowledging that the whiskies have various characters that cannot be identified unless attention is paid to.
The guests were then treated to a banquet put together by Chef Surjan Singh Jolly, Executive Chef and of the MasterChef fame that showcased Spinach feta spanakopita, Open face tenderloin slider, Duck confit ravioli and Seared tuna amongst others.
