Smart Teller Debuts at New Festival Walk Branch Hang Seng Mobile App Introduces Simple Mode
HONG KONG, July 12, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Hang Seng Bank ('Hang Seng') today (12 July 2023) unveiled its innovative 'Future Banking' service concept at a new branch in Festival Walk. The opening saw the launch of three 'first-in-market' service and operation solutions, reflecting the Bank's drive to continually innovate for future banking while striding forward hand-in-hand with customers.
Hang Seng's new branch features Hong Kong's first Smart Teller, which combines a personalised service model with leading edge digital technologies. Customers can use the smart banking counter located in the lobby of the new branch to conduct most types of banking services, including Hong Kong dollar, Renminbi and US dollar cash deposits of banknotes. The Digital Branch Service Executive can provide assistance with most personal account-related enquiries, which enables customers to save time by removing the need to wait for traditional teller counters.
The 'Future Banking' concept puts strong emphasis on the ability to personalise e-Banking services. In support of this objective, the Bank will launch a Simple Mode of Hang Seng Mobile App in late July 2023. Featuring a clear and easier-to-use interface for conducting basic digital banking services, the app's Simple Mode supports greater digital service inclusivity by offering customers different options, depending on their preferences, needs and digital savvy. Simple Mode also includes a function that enables customers to contact Bank staff directly in cases of suspicious bank or credit card activity, the first such service of its kind in Hong Kong. The service reflects Hang Seng 's commitment to investing in enhanced customer protection and actively supporting regulators and law enforcement agencies in combatting fraud.
With sustainability as one of Hang Seng's key strategic priorities, eco-friendly design elements have been used throughout the new branch, including a special 'CO2 Reduction System' that reduces the level of carbon dioxide in the branch using an aquatic microalgae reactor. This innovative solution marks another first among banks in Hong Kong.
Diana Cesar, Executive Director and Chief Executive at Hang Seng, said: "Our 'Future Banking' service concept has been developed to meet the future needs of our customers. Our innovative approach, coupled with the adoption of advanced technologies and a sustainable development philosophy, allows us to offer our diverse customer base with creative, caring and forward-looking banking services. The opening of our new branch in Festival Walk also marks the beginning of our 'Future Banking' service commitment, which is fully aligned with Hang Seng's brand values. We will continue to innovate and reinforce our position as a customer-centric industry leader, reflecting our vision to be 'Ever Growing, Ever Innovating' in the service of our clients."
New uniform will also be introduced at all Hang Seng branches this quarter. The new uniform is made of eco-friendly, light and comfortable materials, and the vibrant green colour reflects Hang Seng's energetic image. At today's branch opening ceremony, Hang Seng organised a special fashion show, which featured children dressed in various uniforms used by the Bank over the past nine decades. In the final part of the show, Hang Seng staff delighted the audience by coming out to model the Bank's new uniform.
