Award Ceremony of 'Youth on the Silk Road' Short Video Contest Takes Place
BEIJING, June 12, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- An award ceremony for the "Youth on the Silk Road" Short Video Contest kicked off on June 10 at the Silk Road Paradise in Xi'an. The event was sponsored by CRI Online of China Media Group and organized in collaboration with Shaanxi Tourism Group Co., Ltd and CRI Online Shaanxi Channel. Several awards were presented during the event and the unveiling of the second "Youth on the Silk Road" Short Video Contest took place.
The "Youth on the Silk Road" Short Video Contest was launched on February 28, 2022, inviting submissions of short videos from various countries and regions along the Silk Road. The call for entries aims to encourage individuals to showcase the touching stories of youth from Generation Z in the aforementioned areas through the lens. Since its inauguration, the contest has collected over 5,000 entries from more than 20 countries such as Germany, Singapore, and Argentina. With all of these videos, the progress made in strengthening people-to-people bonds under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has been well demonstrated since the BRI was proposed.
At the award ceremony, attendees witnessed the release of the winners of the grand prize, grand jury awards, first, second, and third prizes, as well as excellence awards. Additionally, seven categories of individual awards, including the best creativity award and outstanding organization awards were also presented to their winners. Kvlividze Tamar, the vlogger from Georgia won the grand award with her work titled Chinese-Georgian Interactions through My Lens. The short video titled Listen! The sounds that are disappearing from the Information Office of Beijing Municipality received the grand jury award.
At the award ceremony, a round-table discussion titled "Gathering the Power of Generation Z to Bolster the Silk Road Dream" was hosted. Furthermore, the ceremony also marked the unveiling of the Young Creator Incubation Base along the Silk Road. Additionally, the "Content Co-creation Program of Generation Z" was launched on-site.
