AISG Announces Grand Opening of Science Park Campus - Realizing Its Vision for Learning
GUANGZHOU, China, Aug. 30, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- AISG officially opened its Science Park campus, which was designed with a clear "Vision for Learning". This vision aimed to create a world-class learning environment that supports student-centered learning for a variety of learning styles. The campus offers student choice on how, when, and where they learn, facilitating deeper learning that can happen in a variety of learning spaces. Thus, the theme for the Grand Opening event on August 30, 2023 was "A Vision for Learning-Realized".
The Grand Opening event was attended by government officials, consul generals, strategic partners, media, caregivers, faculty, staff, students, and distinguished guests. The event included speeches by the Director, Mr. Kevin Baker, the U.S. Consul General Lisa K. Heller and Deputy Head of Guangzhou Education Bureau, Mr. Chen Minsheng, and a full agenda featuring student performances, ceremonies, celebrations, activities, and more. The entire event highlighted the importance of education that empowers learners and the pivotal role AISG plays in providing a world-class education to students in Guangzhou.
Over 38,000m2 of space was renovated, which included the construction of buildings, landscaping, and repurposed outdoor space. The Science Park campus now features the Central Plaza as the main entrance, along with the Elementary Building, Secondary Building, Performing Arts Center, and Athletic Center. The renovated campus showcases an increase in key spaces, including a 167% increase in learning space, a 199% increase in recreational space, and a 23% increase in outdoor space.
The campus has several unique features. The academic buildings offer world-class learning environments with an open-concept design that includes over 85 modern classrooms with glass walls and doors, as well as flexible furniture and accessories. The Performing Arts Center features a state-of-the-art 499-seat theater with a professional sound and lighting system, black box, music classrooms, and practice rooms. The Athletic Center includes a natural grass soccer pitch, an indoor 25-meter swimming pool, two gymnasiums with three full-sized courts, a fitness room, a dance studio, an external climbing wall, an indoor running track, two rooftop spaces, and a full educational suite for instruction.
