Ziff Davis Enterprise Hires Digital Events Pioneer Elliot Markowitz
Creator of the First Technology Publishing Virtual Tradeshow to Redesign and Accelerate Digital Events Portfolio
NEW YORK, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff Davis Enterprise, a leader in innovative enterprise IT media and engagement solutions, announced today that it has hired Elliot Markowitz as Vice President, Content Development.
Reporting directly to CEO Steve Weitzner, Markowitz will be in charge of redesigning and amplifying the company's editorial digital events portfolio in order to maximize its impact, relevance and overall effectiveness for both attendees and clients. Specific goals will include building a robust editorial calendar, creating effective content and execution strategies, and advising clients on best practices for creating a great audience experience. In addition to his work with digital events, Markowitz will collaborate with Ziff Davis Enterprise's editorial and operations teams to develop multiplatform solutions designed to engage the IT professional by delivering the content they want, when and how they want it.

Markowitz is a 20-plus year editorial and publishing veteran with deep experience in content development and digital events. He helped create and launch the first virtual tradeshow in the technology publishing arena for Ziff Davis in 2004, and his team was the recipient of the coveted FAME award from Folio Magazine for the Best Online Event in 2006.
Prior to joining Ziff Davis Enterprise, Markowitz was Director of Programming for INXPO where he helped the company reposition its webcasting product line to better meet the needs of the growing digital events market. Previous to that, he was the Editorial Director of Nielsen Business Media's Web Seminars and Digital Events, responsible for building the company's digital events strategy across all its media brands. Before Nielsen he was the Editorial Director of Ziff Davis Media eSeminars where he helped build the company's editorial eSeminar business. Markowitz also spent 10 years in various editorial positions at Computer Reseller News (CRN) including holding the title of Editor.
