ZERO Announces Partnership With Shusokumb
National women's handbag maker wants to make a difference in the fight against prostate cancer.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Getting involved in the fight to end prostate cancer is what Robert Ginyard has done! On February 25th, 2011, ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer announced a multiyear partnership with creator/owner Robert Ginyard and Shusokumb.
"Because of my wife's active involvement in my health, and the fact that most women are generally more proactive when it comes to health issues, it was a no-brainer to donate a portion of the sales of Shusokumb® bags to Zero - The Project to End Prostate Cancer. It is my hope that by making a contribution to Zero, we increase awareness and support an organization that has zero tolerance for prostate cancer, and is committed to improving the lives of men and their families," said Robert Ginyard, prostate cancer survivor and creator/owner of Shusokumb.
"We are honored to work with Shusokumb® to help raise money for prostate cancer research," said Skip Lockwood, CEO. "Prostate cancer is the second-deadliest cancer for men and has touched many families. We look forward to working with Shusokumb® to create Generation Zero, the first generation of men free from prostate cancer."
About Shusokumb
Robert Ginyard is the creator of the Shusokumb® (pronounced: Shu-sock-um) tote bag, a compartmentalized bag created for the millions of women who wear sneakers or flats to work and later change into a pair of heels once they arrive to the office. Mr. Ginyard's creation has been sold through major retailers such as Nordstrom, Woodward & Lothrop, John Wannamaker, and Strawbridge's department stores. Mr. Ginyard, a former banker, initially created the Shusokumb® in 1992 after observing women walking in flats or sneakers, and carrying their heels in various types of bags; in some cases he noticed women carrying blue grocery store bags. Robert's new redesign of the Shusokumb® Bag continues to be a hit and draw the attention of consumers and the media.
