YuMe Unveils Mobile Video Solutions for Advertisers, Publishers, and Developers of iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch Apps
New Mobile Ad Units Deliver 'In-App,' Full Screen Engagement for Advertisers, While Publishers Gain Ability to Extend Campaigns to New Devices and Applications
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Nov. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- YuMe, a leading video advertising technology company, today released its iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch® software development kit as well as two new mobile ad units, to help advertisers, web publishers, and app developers extend their reach to iOS devices. Advertisers can access innovative new ad formats that extend mobile video campaigns directly into the apps, while web and app publishers can now fully manage campaigns on iOS devices and maximize yield. YuMe's mobile video solutions reinforce its ongoing commitment to help publishers effectively monetize inventory across all connected device channels—online, mobile, and IPTV—while helping advertisers reach their desired audiences on any screen.
By integrating the software development kit, publishers and app developers can utilize YuMe's industry-leading ACE for Publishers video advertising platform to take full control of their video ad operations and centralize ad serving to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. ACE for Publishers is a complete set of cloud-based ad operations tools, with which publishers can streamline video ad management functions across all device channels to drive higher revenue, streamlined processes, and lower operating costs. The YuMe ACE platform allows publishers to engage multiple video ad networks, including YuMe's premium ad network of more than 600 brand-safe publishers, to maximize eCPMs and yield.
"The ever-growing and diverse audience of millions of iOS users presents both advertisers and publishers with incredible opportunities," said Jayant Kadambi, president and co-founder of YuMe. "These new ad formats along with ACE, allow publishers to serve ads that are customized to the experience of viewing video directly in mobile apps—the most widely adopted method for consuming content on iOS devices. Meanwhile, advertisers get unprecedented brand exposure and audience engagement only achievable in a full-screen mobile video experience, while preserving the sanctity of their existing campaign creative."
To help publishers and advertisers achieve their goals, YuMe created two new mobile ad units: Mobile Connect and Mobile Billboard. These units were designed to provide an immersive brand experience based on mobile device characteristics while giving viewers additional opportunities to interact with the advertiser's brand through both online and offline channels.
YuMe's Mobile Connect delivers a full screen video ad overlaid with 'Tap To Action' icons that enable further engagement with the brand. Advertisers can choose Social Connect icons, which lead directly to their Facebook page, Twitter page, YouTube page, or even App Store; or they can choose Brand Connect icons, which link to the advertiser's website, downloadable coupons, or the contact numbers for their sales or customer service teams.
YuMe's Mobile Billboard features a full-screen banner or rich media ad that appears before the desired video content and allows the user to play video or connect with social networking and ecommerce brand destination sites.
Both ad units provide advertisers with insightful viewer engagement data—such as percentage of video viewed and 'Tap To Action' events—that can be used to optimize ad creative or media buys. These ad units also provide comprehensive reports and data to verify billable events based on impressions or the percentage of video viewed.
"The increased usage of mobile internet devices gives advertisers a new platform through which they can reach a highly engaged audience," said Arlene Villanueva, global media director at Intel. "At Intel, we pride ourselves on our innovative approach to advertising, and we are excited at the opportunity to reach our desired mobile audiences through YuMe's best-of-breed technologies just as video ad engagement is soaring on these devices."
