TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ybor City Development Corporation (YCDC) today announced the launch of a new, redesigned version of its website, www.yborcityonline.com, in addition to its new campaign, "More in Ybor."
The site was created to promote Tampa's National Historic Landmark District's growing assets, complimented by a catalog of stunning photographs taken by local photographer Gabriel Burgos.
Key features of the new website include a cleaner and more attractive design in a responsive architecture promoting usability across all devices; simple "one click" hyperlinks to offer a more engaging user experience; enhanced search and navigation functionality; and, the capability to experience all that Ybor City has to offer residents and visitors alike.
"We are thrilled to launch a historically rich online experience for visitors, residents, businesses and just about anyone wanting to see how much more there is in our unique neighborhood," said YCDC Manager, Courtney Orr. "The fresh collection of beautiful photographs we are debuting really does prove 'a picture is worth a thousand words.' As a safe and walkable entertainment district, expanding tech hub and growing residential neighborhood, we wanted to offer as many paths for the online users as possible by showcasing the experience of all we have to offer. The site is our virtual ambassador for all."
Promotional areas throughout the website feature more ways to explore, live, do business and get around Ybor City. The elegant yet simplistic photo grid design of the site provides an eye-catching and welcoming feeling. The site was crafted to boost the discoverability of the historic district, drive new businesses, and—ultimately—grow the neighborhood.
Sean Coniglio, Senior Business Strategist/Partner at HCP Associates and YCDC's agency of record said, "The new website is experiential with an intense array of breathtaking new photography combined with enhanced content, improved search functionality, and optimization for mobile devices and social media platforms. It allows consumers and businesses to better interact with all that Ybor City has to offer and is designed to create a simple platform to explore everything the district delivers. We really feel we captured the 'More in Ybor' message."
The new website also promotes an updated merchant directory as well as an interactive map featuring the best ways to get around Ybor City. From a streetcar stop or bicycle rental to drivers seeking city-operated parking garages, street parking and private lots, this map makes it easy to explore "More in Ybor."
"We pushed our team hard to get the new website designed, built and tested in order to launch by December 1, 2016, so that we were ready for the busy holiday season and the upcoming surge in visitors expected with the incoming 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship and the Outback Bowl. We did it!" Orr said.
