xG Technology Announces New Patent Adding Enhanced Intelligence and Efficiency to Cognitive Radio Wireless Networks

("xG" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: XGTI, XGTIW), a leader in providing critical wireless communications for use in challenging operating environments, announced today that it has been awarded a new patent covering an innovative method for enabling cognitive radios to rapidly scan for neighboring wireless channels. The patent "Method to Enable Rapid Scanning by Cognitive Radios" describes an approach for simultaneously maintaining both end user Quality of Service (QoS) levels and the flexibility and agility required in an on-the-move cognitive wireless network.
