Wright Patman Congressional Federal Credit Union Announces Departure of CEO, Charles Mallon
WASHINGTON, Dec. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wright Patman Congressional Federal Credit Union, announced today that Charles A. Mallon has resigned his position of President and CEO of Congressional Federal to pursue another CEO opportunity in the credit union industry.
Mr. Mallon, who was appointed President and CEO in 2007, worked for Congressional Federal Credit Union for more than 26 years beginning as a Member Service Representative and subsequently working in virtually all departments of the credit union including serving as Vice President of several different departments, CFO and Executive Vice President prior to his appointment as President and CEO. Congressional Federal saw consistent asset and membership growth year-over-year during his leadership as a direct result of instituting a culture that focused on developing relationships with our members rather than simply amassing accounts.
Jim Kaelin, Chairman of the Board of Congressional Federal, acknowledged Mr. Mallon's leadership and wished him well. "I have worked closely with Charlie during my service with the credit union, and wish to thank him for his many years of dedication to Congressional Federal and the credit union industry as a whole. Charlie's unyielding commitment to operating the credit union in a safe and sound manner enabled Congressional to persevere through the worst financial crisis the credit union industry has ever endured, which has enabled Congressional Federal to not only meet our members' financial expectations today, but to exceed them well into the future."
Mr. Kaelin also announced that Anthony Caccese, Chief Financial Officer of Congressional Federal, has been appointed as interim CEO. Tony has been with Congressional Federal for seven years and has 26 years of financial industry management and leadership experience, and has also previously served as CFO at another credit union. "We have confidence in Mr. Caccese's ability to serve as interim CEO while the search is undertaken for a new President and CEO. Tony's vast knowledge of the credit union make him the ideal candidate to lead the credit union during this period of transition. The Board and I look forward to working with him during this period."
