Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride Invites Public to Ride Along on Long Island
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On July 23 and 24, New Yorkers are invited to join injured service men and women as they participate in a three-day rehabilitative bicycling ride across Long Island. As wounded warriors from the current conflicts benefit from the physical rehabilitation and are honored by local supporters, the public is encouraged to ride along, get to know the riders and thank them for their service.
The New York leg of this national event will begin in Manhattan on July 22, where warriors will ride from Macy's Herald Square to Lower Manhattan and then on to Brooklyn.
On July 23, the warriors and riders joining the cause will be riding from Babylon, Long Island's Town Hall to Overlook Beach in East Islip. "We are honored to be hosting the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride in the Town of Babylon for the third consecutive year," said Supervisor Steve Bellone of the Town of Babylon. "The men and women represented by the Wounded Warrior Project are true heroes, and I am grateful for the opportunity to honor their service and thank them for their sacrifices."
The following day, another ride open to the public will take place in the Hamptons, departing from Amagansett and concluding in East Hampton.
