Wounded Warrior Project Gratefully Recognizes Donation From Mischler Financial Group, Inc.
$10,000 check presented at National Veterans Art Museum of Chicago
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On December 14, Mischler Financial Group, Inc. presented a check for $10,000 to Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). This generous donation was the result of a month-long initiative begun in honor of Veterans Day. Throughout the month of November, the company donated a portion of their trading commissions to the nonprofit organization that honors and empowers injured service members. The effort was so successful that it will now be conducted annually.
The check was presented during an event hosted by the City of Chicago and the National Veterans Art Museum of Chicago. The museum and the Student Veterans of America – Illinois will both be receiving donations from the Americans Veterans Educational Endowment on behalf of the City of Chicago.
Mischler Financial Group was founded by Walter M. Mischler, a West Point graduate and disabled American veteran. The funds donated by Mischler Financial will go to support WWP's innovative programs and services. Over 40,000 of our nation's armed forces have been physically wounded during the current military conflicts. Hundreds of thousands more are estimated to be recovering from invisible wounds of war, including post-traumatic stress disorder, major depression, and traumatic brain injury (TBI). WWP assists wounded warriors and their families through a holistic approach to their recovery. Whether through caregiver retreats, combat stress programs, career and education services, or adaptive sporting opportunities, WWP empowers warriors with the tools essential to not just survive their injuries but to thrive and achieve personal and professional success.
"We are very grateful for the donation and recognition we received from the Mischler Financial Group," said Adam Silva, Chief Development Officer for WWP. "It is because of generous and engaged organizations like Mischler that we are able to reach warriors in the Chicago area and nationwide; we are proud to have them join us in our mission of honoring and empowering warriors."
