HOUSTON, Aug. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Worldwide Power Products announced in a statement this morning that it is prepared for and has available portable power modules to help the East Coast of the United States with their emergency backup power requirements due to Hurricane Irene.

David Vennie, Vice President of the industrial power equipment provider, says it has a total of over 30 megawatts of large portable Caterpillar and Cummins generators available and ready for shipment to the East Coast. He added we would "take all necessary measures" to provide temporary back-up power to that stressed region. "We have informed to the appropriate authorities and will ship our generators as rapidly as possible when required."
Worldwide Power Products has a history of supplying emergency power at very short notice given its expansive inventory of over 100 new and used generator sets.
