Wolters Kluwer Health Announces the Appointment of Susan Driscoll as President & CEO of its Professional & Education Business Unit
PHILADELPHIA, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading provider of information and business intelligence for students, professionals and institutions in medicine, nursing, allied health and pharmacy, announced today the appointment of Susan Driscoll to the position of President and CEO of Wolters Kluwer Health, Professional & Education effective June 1, 2010. Ms. Driscoll is currently Executive Vice President & General Manager, Professional & Education.
Ms. Driscoll has 30 years of experience in academic and trade publishing. In her past two years with Wolters Kluwer Health as Executive Vice President & General Manager, Professional & Education, she has successfully led the transformation of the Professional & Education sales, marketing and editorial functions to an electronic orientation.

Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer Health, Ms. Driscoll was Vice President, Strategy for Author Solutions, Inc., a technology-driven print-on-demand and publishing solutions provider. Prior to the purchase of iUniverse, Inc. by Author Solutions in 2007, Ms. Driscoll served as President/CEO of iUniverse, where she successfully implemented a company turnaround and built the iUniverse brand as a respected alternative to traditional publishing.
Ms. Driscoll also served as Chief Operating Officer of Bedford, Freeman & Worth (part of Holtzbrinck Publishers Holdings), where she guided operations and new media strategy for the college textbook publisher. She has held senior management roles at HarperCollins and Holt, Rinehart & Winston. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, and currently serves on the Advisory Council to the Snite Museum of Art at Notre Dame. In 2009, Ms. Driscoll was named as one of the top fifty women in publishing by Book Business magazine.
Ms. Driscoll succeeds Gordon Macomber, current President and CEO Wolters Kluwer Health, Professional & Education, and will report directly into Mr. Becker.
