Wizard of Oz Tickets Go On Sale
Tickets for Andrew Lloyd Webber's New Musical Are Now Available.
LONDON, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew Lloyd Webber is a musical genius and the man behind many fantastic London shows including 'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'Love Never Dies.' Somewhat of a West End guru, Andrew Lloyd Webber knows exactly what's hot and what's not and therefore it is no wonder his new show -- 'The Wizard of Oz' -- is said to be one of the biggest next year with tickets already up for grabs.
The eagerly-awaited show will open on April 26 2011 at the London Palladium and Wizard of Oz London theatre breaks are now on sale. A West End adaptation of the well-known fairytale, 'The Wizard of Oz' is the tale of Dorothy, her dog, Toto, and their friends the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow.
'The Wizard of Oz' has already received a lot of publicity thanks to Andrew Lloyd Webber's BBC reality show 'Over the Rainbow.' Lord Lloyd Webber and host Graham Norton came together again in search of the perfect Dorothy to star in the upcoming stage musical, and in the end the winner was beautiful teenager Danielle Hope.
'Over The Rainbow' followed on from the success of Lloyd Webber's previous talent searches, 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?,' 'Any Dream Will Do' and 'I'd Do Anything' which catapulted Connie Fisher, Lee Mead and Jodie Prenger to West End fame!
A great initiative to get a wider range of people interested in theatre and the West End, Andrew Lloyd Webber's reality TV shows have been a great success. Lee Mead won a six-month contract to play Joseph in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' in 2007, however, the talented actor was such a hit that it was extended three times and he starred in the show until 10 January 2009.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's new show 'Over the Rainbow' has been as popular as the reality shows before it with regular followers blogging and Tweeting along.
Wizard of Oz tickets went on sale at the start of May 2010 and is predicted to be the biggest selling show of 2011, with people scrambling to see the nation's Dorothy live onstage.
