Online Ordering Platform Partners With UberRUSH and Sidecar to Enable On-Demand Delivery at Scale
NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- delivery.com today announced turnkey delivery logistics for local merchants, empowering them to request delivery of their goods with the tap of a button. Built on a proprietary API and developed in partnership with UberRUSH, Sidecar, and other regional delivery providers, the new service enables merchants in dozens of cities to grow their business with on-demand delivery.
Upon receiving an order in Storefront, delivery.com's existing order management solution, participating merchants will now see a "Request delivery" option that displays estimated pickup times and transparent pricing from a growing network of delivery logistics partners. Map-based order tracking also allows both the merchant and customer to watch the delivery travel in real time.
"Rather than build and manage our own delivery fleets, we built the technology to solve for the last mile," said Jed Kleckner, CEO of delivery.com. "Now businesses can work together while focusing on their own best-in-class ability, be that managing logistics or making a great meal."
By integrating delivery logistics partners into its marketplace, delivery.com is closing the loop on the entire supply chain from order generation to fulfillment. "We worked with delivery.com to create an integration that all of their merchants could easily take advantage of," said Jason Droege, Head of UberEverything. "Now with UberRUSH any small business has the ability to access our on-demand delivery network and immediately grow their customer base and business."
The ability to request deliveries through Storefront allows merchants to maintain operational flexibility, as they can augment their existing staff or outsource deliveries completely. "With the flip of a switch, we were able to go from doing limited to-go business to covering all of New York City overnight," said Yann de Rochefort, owner of Boqueria Restaurants. "delivery.com's logistics let us efficiently and consistently give customers a great experience, no matter where they are."
With turnkey access to on-demand order fulfillment, countless more merchants will be able to join delivery.com's platform, reach new customers, and maximize revenue. For more information, interested merchants can visit http://www.delivery.com/deliverylogistics.
