WiserCare Named Winner of the HX360 Innovation Challenge
Recognized as a Digital Health Solutions that Improves The Patient Experience
SEATTLE, May 7, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- HX360 recently announced that WiserCare won the inaugural HX360 Innovation Challenge competition, which sought to recognize digital health companies that best demonstrate an ability to improve the patient experience in healthcare provider settings. Along with co-winner Ginger.io, WiserCare was selected from an original field of eighty-three entrants, with four finalists presenting their solutions live before an esteemed judging panel during the HX360 program at HIMSS15 last week in Chicago.
Entrants were judged on several criteria, including demonstrated patient satisfaction improvements, increased patient convenience and access, empowerment with health information, proof of positive impact and market readiness. Technical considerations included interoperability with existing IT systems, workflow impact, superior user interface and scalability. Judges included senior health system executives, HIT executives and venture capitalists.
"WiserCare's novel approach to shared decision making demonstrates how profoundly their technology-enabled solution can transform the patient experience by guiding smarter, more confident treatment choices," said Roy Smythe, MD, CEO of HX360. "Our congratulations to the WiserCare and the other finalists. The impressive field of applicants points to the rich potential of emerging companies in driving innovation."
As a winner of the challenge, WiserCare will receive $75,000 in prize money and legal services that will be used to fund new pilot programs at U.S. not-for-profit health systems using WiserCare's personalized shared decision making platform. WiserCare will operate its pilots at a healthcare system to be identified by AVIA, the provider-led healthcare accelerator that co-founded HX360 with HIMSS.
The HX360 Innovation Challenge was made possible through the sponsorship and support of Philips, Providence Health Systems, McKesson Ventures, the California Health Care Foundation, Azul7, HLM Venture Partners, Matchpoint Partners and Chrysalis Ventures; Morrison & Foerster was the exclusive sponsor representing the legal services industry.
