WinCo Foods Announces the Opening of a New Store in Surprise, Arizona

BOISE, Idaho, June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods LLC announced today that it will open its first store in Surprise and its seventh discount supermarket in the State of Arizona at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25th. The Surprise store is located at 16925 W. Bell Road and is approximately 85,000 square feet in size. The store's layout makes it easy to shop and the décor creates an efficient, clean feel which highlights the product. The Surprise store will initially employ approximately 130 individuals, about 120 of whom have been hired locally.

WinCo Foods is an employee owned discount grocery chain known primarily for being the "Supermarket Low Price Leader" in each market it serves. Surprise Store Manager, Tony Salcido, transfers to the store from Reno, Nevada and comes to the store with 11 years of experience with the company. Assistant Managers are Alex Carrillo and Joshua Norton, both of whom transferred from WinCo stores in California.  Tony, his management team and the store's employees are excited about opening the new Surprise store and are eager to assist new customers. Tony indicates that there is good community buzz and feels that anticipation and excitement for the new store is building among potential customers. The store features the "Wall of Values" at the entry, which displays a wide variety of high volume products with particularly good pricing. The perimeter of the sales floor includes large fresh produce, bulk foods, meat, deli, seafood, and bakery service departments. The unique bulk foods department allows customers to buy only the amounts they want and displays over 700 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies, cereals, flours, pastas, spices and more.
