WinCo Foods Announces Grand Opening of New Store in Roy, Utah

BOISE, Idaho, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods, LLC announced today that it will open its newest discount supermarket at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2010.  The 94,000 square foot Roy, Utah store is located at 6060 South 3500 West and will employ approximately 200 individuals.  

WinCo Foods is employee owned and is known primarily for being the supermarket low price leader in each market where it operates.  Store Manager, Mark Wright, comes to Roy with thirty (30) years of experience with WinCo Foods.  He has previously worked in ten (10) stores and managed four stores for the company before transferring to Roy from Marysville, Washington.  His two assistant managers Birgit Freeman and William Daugherty have nine (9) and five (5) years with the company respectively.  The entire management team is enthusiastic about opening a new WinCo Foods store in Roy.  Mr. Wright indicated that the community seems very friendly and receptive to store personnel who have transferred from other areas and he looks forward to working with the new employees hired locally from the 5,600 who made application for employment.  The entire WinCo Foods team looks forward to serving the community with a large selection of grocery items and our low price approach to the market.

As customers enter the new store they'll see a large "Wall of Values" featuring special low pricing on a wide variety of popular items.  Moving onto the main floor of the store, customers will appreciate a large fresh produce department; the seafood and meat, deli, and bakery service departments; and a large unique bulk foods department.  The bulk foods department displays over 600 items, including many natural food products, some organics, snacks, candies and more.  We are excited for customers to come in and see what makes WinCo Foods different as our employee owners work hard to help you save money on your grocery purchases.
