COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- White Castle, America's first fast-food hamburger chain, is honoring military veterans on Veterans Day, November 11, by offering them a free Breakfast Slider and a small coffee or a small soft drink.
"Veterans Day is a significant and important holiday for our country," said Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle. "As a family-owned business, White Castle is dedicated to honoring past and current members of the U.S. military for their commitment and sacrifice to safeguard our freedom. This is just one small way we can share our gratitude to these brave individuals. Their service to our country is noteworthy. It's our turn to serve them."
All past and current members of the U.S. military will receive a free Breakfast Slider, Waffle Slider or Toast Sandwich and small beverage on November 11 at participating White Castle restaurants. White Castle encourages veterans and those currently enlisted to share proof of service at the time of redemption. However, no purchase is necessary to claim the offer.
Veterans Day, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, was established in 1954 as a day to honor American veterans of all wars. As of 2014, there are more than 20 million veterans living in the United States.
"One of our favorite experiences at White Castle is hearing 'crave tales' from military service men and women who have enjoyed White Castles," said Richardson. "Savoring the flavors of the iconic Slider was a taste of home for them, even when they were hundreds of miles away."
White Castle's famous fare, including the full breakfast menu, is available anytime at participating locations. The full menu is also available for online ordering at whitecastle.com/onlineordering.
