Westinghouse Announces MOU With Czech Firm I&C Energo
- Agreement Covers Instrumentation and Control Systems for Proposed new Temelin Power Plants
- Westinghouse regional President: This is first of many upcoming agreements with Czech suppliers
PRAGUE, Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Company today announces the signing of an important Memorandum of Understanding with Czech company I & C Energo a.s., in preparation for the potential construction of Westinghouse AP1000® nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic.
The provisions of the agreement cover exclusive cooperation with I & C Energo related to the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems for the new reactors, together with the associated testing and startup services. This agreement continues Westinghouse’s diligent ongoing activities to develop and subsequently deliver a valuable proposal to CEZ for the construction of the AP1000 nuclear power plant at the Temelin site in the South Bohemian region of the country. The agreement was signed in Prague by Mr. Kerry Hanahan for Westinghouse and Messrs Jan Safranek and Jiri Holinka for I & C Energo.
Anders Jackson, Westinghouse president for its Europe, Middle East, and Africa region (EMEA), highlighted the companies’ long association with one another.
