Webmedx Selected by Madison Center and Hospitals for Transcription, Speech Recognition and Quality Analytics Services
Madison responds to Indiana's new Medicaid Rehabilitation Option (MRO) with cost-saving help from Webmedx.
ATLANTA, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Webmedx, the third largest medical transcription service provider in the U.S. and a premier supplier of speech recognition and quality analytics technology, today announced that Madison Center, a leading behavioral healthcare services provider in Indiana and Southwestern Michigan, is a new client. Madison Center began using Webmedx's web-based platform and U.S.-based medical transcription services in May and reports a $25,000 reduction in transcription costs within the first two months of the contract, according to Debra Jowers, Director of Revenue Cycle.
In addition to reduced costs, the organization has seen improved report quality and reduced turn-around times with Webmedx. "Our physicians are very pleased with the accuracy and speed of Webmedx," mentions Jowers. The agreement between the organizations was announced by Chris Cashwell, Senior Vice President of Webmedx.
Madison Center is a 9-clinic and 2-hospital provider organization offering a full spectrum of behavioral healthcare services for adolescents and adults. Madison is currently being impacted by the state of Indiana's MRO Program changes which became effective on July 1, 2010. Due to the MRO impact on billing, Jowers was looking for a platform and service provider that could help her organization through the transition and assist them in saving money now and into the future through speech recognition technology. Madison Center processes approximately 55,000 claims and their physicians dictate nearly 5,000 reports per month.
"In addition to the savings that we have experienced with Webmedx, I like the fact that they have the ability to electronically analyze physician reports and easily identify areas where better documentation is needed to support medical necessity," says Jowers. "One of our biggest issues is to determine where physicians are failing to document and Webmedx will help us to solve that problem with their QualityAnalytics™ module," she concludes.
"With medical necessity issues at the forefront in today's healthcare environment, Webmedx is continually seeking to provide the solutions that will solve our clients' needs," comments Cashwell. "Madison has some unique challenges with the MRO program changes and we are pleased that we are able to not only serve their needs, but also to save them money in the process."
