We Are LA Music Festival adds Kevin Costner & Modern West to artist line-up

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin Costner & Modern West has just been confirmed to perform at the We Are LA Family Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA. The daylong celebration will feature educational family activities representing major cities and cultures in Southern California.

The Academy Award®-winning Costner formed the rock/country band in 2007, which has toured globally and has released a total of four studio albums. Band members include Costner, along with John Coinman, Teddy Morgan, Blair Forward, Larry Cobb, Park Chisolm, Luke Bella and Bobby Yang.

The We Are LA Family Music Festival is a collaborative day of music, food and entertainment that will benefit seven local non-profit groups fighting for rights and resources for the youth of Los Angeles.   

Additional confirmed artists include Reluctant Apostles featuring Katey Sagal, singer/songwriter Rachel Platten whose iTunes chart-topping "Fight Song" was the anthem at the DNC Convention, YouTube sensation Jessica Sanchez, Ozokidz, presented by Ozomatli, Lisa Loeb, Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band, and Rhythm Child. Magician and comedian Justin Willman – the host of Cupcake Wars – will also mesmerize audiences.

Attendees can also play soccer with the LA Galaxy Foundation, toss footballs with Amer-I-Can, explore with Kidspace Children's Museum, kayak and fish with the National Park Service, face-paint with Hollywood makeup artists, visit with animals from STAR Eco Station and many more.

All net proceeds from the festival will benefit Los Angeles children's charities, including Amer-I-Can, CASA of Los Angeles, Happy Trails for Kids, Junior Achievement of Southern California, Richstone Family Center, 826LA and the LA Galaxy Foundation.
