WaterTectonics Technology Receives General Use Designation from State of Washington
WaveIonics system is one of two approved methods to treat stormwater runoff on construction sites
EVERETT, Wash., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- WaterTectonics, an international leader in on-site water treatment technology and services, is pleased to announce the company has been granted General Use Level Designation (GULD) from the Washington State Department of Ecology for its WaveIonics Electrocoagulation Subtractive Technology (ECST). The company's innovative WaveIonics ECST is one of only two approved methods for treatment of stormwater runoff on construction sites in the state of Washington. The GULD designation will make the system more broadly accessible statewide, as it is now an approved method for Erosion and Sediment Control on construction sites.
The WaveIonics system is consistently a "go-to" technology for high-volume construction projects in the greater Seattle region, including those discharging to Western Washington water bodies with sensitive ecosystems, such as Puget Sound, Lake Washington, and the Columbia River. The system has also been implemented as a permanent industrial stormwater treatment solution at multiple facilities across Washington and Oregon. High profile construction projects in the greater Seattle region that have effectively used the WaveIonics system include Microsoft's West Campus in Redmond, the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton, and St. Anthony's Hospital in Gig Harbor.
"WaterTectonics is thrilled to have General Use Level Designation for our WaveIonics system," said Jim Mothersbaugh, founder and president of WaterTectonics. "This recognition from the state of Washington is a testament to the effectiveness and capabilities of our electrocoagulation technology. We are confident that access to this leading edge technology will equip the construction industry to discharge water from sites with a significantly decreased risk of environmental damage."
The WaveIonics system is an automated electrocoagulation water treatment system operating between 100 to 1,000 gallons per minute for the purpose of reducing turbidity and controlling pH on construction sites. In other applications, the WaveIonics system is also effective for removal of total suspended solids, total and dissolved heavy metals, bacteria, and more.
An innovative, cost-effective feature of WaveIonics is the system's Remote Notification functionality. In Remote Notification mode, the WaveIonics system can send text message alerts to an operator's mobile device or email. This allows an operator to perform other on-site duties when the WaveIonics system is in standard operation and only to respond as necessary to system-generated alerts.
