ARLINGTON, Va., March 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lunarline, a cyber security company, and Echo360, the leader in active learning and lecture capture solutions, together announced today the graduation of the first cohort of Warrior to Cyber Warrior (W2CW) students. The new non-profit organization provided career training that links America's returning Veterans and Wounded Warriors to employers in need of qualified cyber security professionals through training and career placement. The W2CW program is a six-month, tuition-free cyber security training and certification program that gives Veterans and wounded service members the skills needed to transition from the military to a career as a cyber security professional.

Working through the Warrior to Cyber Warrior (W2CW) program has been a powerful experience to help the students to grow both technically and professionally. "The remote learning coupled with the camaraderie within the cohorts provides a certain 'ease-of-use' that cannot be found or replicated in other programs," says graduate and United States Marine Corps veteran Jack Keck. W2CW is a transformative program that is poised to place many veterans in a career space where their military training will serve to amplify the technical curriculum they are learning through the program. Keck goes on to say he is "glad to have had the opportunity to graduate from W2CW and [is] looking forward to participate as an alumnus in their future success."
Graduate and United States Air Force veteran Courtney Beard also credits W2CW for preparing her for her new job with Cisco. As a new employee in the security section of the Advanced Services team at Cisco, she is enhancing her education to address various possible cyber-attacks. "I would not be where I am today if it weren't for the W2CW course and I am very thankful of the knowledge that I have gained," says Beard.
