Walker & Dunlop Ranked Top Tier Lender by the Mortgage Bankers Association
BETHESDA, Md., April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Walker & Dunlop, Inc. (NYSE: WD) (the "Company") announced today that it was named the 13th largest commercial real estate lender in the United States in 2011 by the Mortgage Bankers Association ("MBA") Annual Origination Rankings.
"Being the 13th largest commercial real estate lender in the country in 2011 is exceptional. Walker & Dunlop was the 45th largest lender in the country in 2007 and due to our growth during the financial crisis we finished 2010 as 11th. Staying within the top 15 in a year when large commercial banks, life insurance companies and Wall Street banks returned to the market in a significant way proves the strength of Walker & Dunlop's brand and client reputation," stated Walker & Dunlop Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Willy Walker. "Walker & Dunlop grew aggregate origination volumes 27% year-on-year and grew brokerage volumes 77%, exemplifying our standing as one of the largest Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD lenders in the country, while also working with other capital sources to meet our clients' expanding financing needs."
In 2011, Walker & Dunlop originated $4.0 billion in commercial real estate loans. As of December 31, 2011, the Company serviced $16.8 billion of commercial mortgages and asset managed over 1,800 properties across the United States.
