Wabtec's MotivePower Unit Selected by MBTA to Supply New Passenger Locomotives
WILMERDING, Pa., July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MotivePower, a unit of Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB), has been selected by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), a commuter railroad that serves eastern and central Massachusetts, to supply 20 of MotivePower's next generation, advance-designed, HSP46 passenger locomotives at a cost not to exceed $114.63 million. The locomotives will be manufactured in Boise, Idaho with major components supplied by GE Transportation of Erie, Pa.
