Vought Defense Systems Corp. Announces the Acceptance of Major General Victor J. Hugo, Jr. (Ret.) to its Board of Directors
DUNEDIN, Fla., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vought Defense Systems Corp. (Pink Sheets: VDSC) announces the acceptance of Major General Victor J. Hugo, Jr.'s appointment to its Board of Directors.
In his new role, Major General Hugo will be responsible for coordinating the company's efforts with the U.S. Department of Defense and other government agencies. He will lead internal coordination of Congressional relations activities related to defense spending and representing the company at numerous acquisition and related professional associations.
Before joining Vought, General Hugo served in both Korea and Vietnam before he served two tours in the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army. He served as a Military Leadership Instructor with the Continental Army Command Leadership Board at Fort Bragg. He was Assistant Secretary of the Army General Staff; Deputy Director of the Army Staff; Executive Officer and Senior Aide to the Chief of Staff; Chief of the Coordination, Analysis, and Reports Division in the Office of the Chief of Staff; and staff officer in the Joint Staff, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Major General Hugo was commissioned a second lieutenant and awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy. He also holds 2 Masters of Science degrees: one in International Affairs from George Washington University and the other in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. His military education includes completion of the Basic Officer Courses from both the Infantry and Air Defense Schools, Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course, Command and Staff Course at the Naval War College, and the National War College.
Since 1996, General Hugo has been an independent consultant in defense and management. Among his clients are MPRI, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman.
