AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- InComm, a leading provider of integrated technology solutions to retailers at point-of-sale (POS), today announced a partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to launch the Virginia E-ZPass Reload Card, which can be used by customers to replenish their E-ZPass accounts.
Now, all customers who have or would like to have a Virginia E-ZPass account, including those who are purely cash-based and those who prefer not to use their credit or debit cards to automatically replenish their accounts, can more easily add funds to their accounts with the Virginia E-ZPass Reload Card. The card is conveniently available for purchase and reloading at Pit Stop convenience stores throughout Hampton Roads, and soon will be available at additional retailers throughout the Commonwealth.
For those consumers who would like to take advantage of the program, an E-ZPass Reload Card can be purchased in-store at participating retailers, loaded with any amount between $10 and $500 at checkout and then linked to a Virginia E-Z Pass account. To reload the card, E-ZPass Virginia customers must present the same E-ZPass Reload Card in-store, and any funds purchased will automatically be loaded to their E-ZPass accounts upon completion of the transaction.
"States are increasingly eliminating cash lanes and replacing them with All Electronic Tolling (AET) lanes. AET lanes allow customers to pay tolls electronically via transponders without stopping at traditional tollbooths," said Phil Graves, Executive Vice President at InComm. "By offering this new account replenishment option, Virginia is providing its E-ZPass customers with added convenience."
Virginia is the most recent state to adopt InComm's account replenishment card solution. InComm developed the first reloadable tolling card for Florida's SunPass in 2012, and is actively working with additional states to create more account replenishment cards.
