Video from thenewsmarket.com and Denmark: 2010 Christmas Seal Presented to Crown Princess Mary of Denmark
NEW YORK, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- See video from Denmark:
The 2010 Christmas Seal was presented on October 25 to Princess Mary of Denmark. It is 107 years ago that the Danish postal clerk Einar Holboll conceived the idea for the world's first Christmas seal, which are labels placed on mail during the Christmas season to raise funds and awareness for charitable programs. The motive of the Christmas seal varies from year to year and different artists are invited to design it every year. The 2010 Danish Christmas Seal was designed by graphic artist and writer Sussi Bech, who has been inspired by the playful Christmas elves. The proceeds from the sale are used to run the so-called "Christmas seal homes" where Danish people who are going through rough times can get a much needed break from their everyday problems. Available video includes general views of the event.
