Sweden, through the Embassy of Sweden and the Swedish Governmental Offices, has a close cooperation with some chosen cities and municipalities in China. Sweden signed a memorandum of understanding with the Beijing government regarding Sino-Swedish cooperation on eco towns and sustainable urban development within planning, construction, infrastructure, transport and traffic. The road show, which started with a Sino-Swedish seminar in Shenyang, goes to the cities and municipalities in the northeast part of China, with a Swedish delegation of 40 people headed by the Swedish Ambassador to China, Mr Lars Freden. High representatives from the governmental offices, ministries and agencies in Sweden, the Embassy of Sweden to China and the city of Stockholm are part of the delegation together with 17 Swedish companies within the area of sustainable urban development.
