Six people were chosen out of 8,400 applicants for the basic training at European Space Agency (ESA). After 14 months of training the six candidates are now astronauts but it can still take up to 10 years before Andreas Mogensen, the first astronaut Danish citizen, can be sent into space. Denmark is a minor contributor to ESA compared to bigger nations and therefore his colleagues from Germany, Italy, Great Britain and France will be the first sent into the space rockets. Andreas Mogensen is educated as a civil engineer in London and has a ph.D. in Space Science from the University of Austin in Texas. Available video includes general views and soundbites.
