RadarFind's patented real-time location system (RTLS) will help VHA members reduce capital expenditures and staff time spent on routine processes. The system generated asset utilization reports for one North Carolina hospital that helped reduce their planned infusion pump purchase by 53 pumps. The more than $300,000 saved as a result of that decision more than recouped the system's cost in less than one year. The hospital also reduced its average time spent searching for misplaced wheelchairs from more than 20 minutes to less than five minutes.
"As hospitals are required to do more with fewer resources, VHA is helping members meet these challenges through the use of innovative technology," said David Gillan, vice president of Purchased Services and Strategic Sourcing at VHA. "The RadarFind system has proven to be a cost-effective technology that reinforces our mission of helping hospitals improve efficiency and performance while enabling them to focus on patient care."
"VHA and RadarFind share a common vision for developing solutions that will help hospitals implement best-in-class solutions for the very real challenges facing our nation's hospitals," said Mike Nelson, president of RadarFind. "We are confident that this relationship will drive measurable, sustainable results that will ultimately allow hospital staff to spend their time focusing on patient care."
The addition of TeleTracking's RadarFind solution builds upon a multi-year relationship between VHA and TeleTracking that began in 2008. RadarFind is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TeleTracking, the three-year KLAS Patient Flow Category Leader with more than 850 hospital customers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
