Veteran Wall Street Financial Planner Launches Double Diamond Investment Group
LIVINGSTON, N.J., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew R. Bodner of Livingston, a veteran registered financial planner and investment advisor to individual and institutional clients of major Wall Street firms, today launched his own financial service firm, Double Diamond Investment Group, LLC, to serve area investors from offices located in nearby Parsippany.
Formation of the firm puts Mr. Bodner, 44 years old, at the leading edge of a national trend in which financial services professionals are moving away from major financial services firms into their own firms; a trend recently reported in the Wall Street Journal. The new firm offers investment management services, financial and retirement planning, and related insurance products.
Mr. Bodner, President, said: "I founded Double Diamond to provide clients with quality, face-to-face personal service from experienced and talented financial professionals of high integrity. These days, far too many major firms outsource client relationships to remote, relatively inexperienced third parties," he added. "In addition, with the billions of dollars in losses these firms have taken, they've had to cut service to the end client, as well as reduce core product areas. Why would I want to subject my clients to a lower level of product and service?"
Following his 1987 graduation from Rider University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, Mr. Bodner spent the first five years as a municipal bond specialist at the Livingston-based bond firm of GMS. During the next 17 years (1992 -2009) he served individual and corporate investors at two major firms, Paine Webber and UBS. At UBS he became a Certified Financial Planner and a Corporate Services Financial Advisor, ending his tenure with the title First Vice President, Investments, holding various securities and insurance licenses.
Mr. Bodner is joined at Double Diamond by his father, Martin Bodner, who is Senior Vice President. The senior Mr. Bodner began his financial services career in 1980, following a long and highly successful career in pharmacy in New Jersey. He passed a series of Securities and Exchange Commission examinations to become a Financial Advisor and a Registered Representative and by the end of his tenure in late 2009 had risen to Senior Vice President.
