Brown Named as a Finalist for Washington Women in Public Relations 2011 Emerging Leaders Awards
WASHINGTON, July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Gibraltar Associates (GA), one of the fastest-growing communications firms in the U.S., today announced that Veronica Brown has joined the firm as a vice president. She will focus on public awareness campaigns, scientific and technical communications, health care communications and social media.
Brown comes to GA from Burson-Marsteller, where she was a manager in the public affairs practice. There she led three outreach initiatives for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and served as the domestic media lead for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's new currency public education program. For VA, she guided branding, strategy and the development of a new website and educational materials for family caregivers of Veterans coinciding with the Department's first foray into offering benefits directly to non-veterans. She also guided the development of a multiyear strategic communications and outreach plan for VA's Five-Year Plan to End Homelessness Among Veterans.
"We are thrilled to have Veronica join Gibraltar Associates," said Eric Bovim, GA's CEO and co-founder. "Her expertise in scientific and health care communications will add to our already expanding capabilities and growth trajectory."
Veronica was recently named as a finalist for the Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) 2011 Emerging Leaders Awards. These awards are a special accolade for young women who are making a significant impact within the communications industry.
