Verisk Analytics CEO Frank Coyne Elected to Underwriters Laboratories' Board of Trustees
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) today announced that Frank J. Coyne has been elected to UL's board of trustees.
Mr. Coyne is currently chairman, president and CEO of Verisk Analytics (Nasdaq: VRSK), a leading source of risk assessment analytics that compiles data designed to detect fraud and predict loss for customers in the U.S. property/casualty insurance, healthcare and mortgage industries. Verisk Analytics includes the holdings of Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) and its subsidiaries, which have been recognized by investors and business media as being among the fastest-growing companies in the United States.

Mr. Coyne also headed the initiative to create Verisk Analytics as the public-company parent of ISO and its family of operating units.

Throughout his career, Mr. Coyne has played a leadership role in property/casualty insurance, delivering numerous speeches at major industry forums and writing many articles with performance-enhancing best practice themes and forceful calls for market discipline. Prior to ISO, Mr. Coyne served as executive vice president for Kemper Insurance Companies' specialty and risk management groups. He has also worked for the U.S. Treasury Department, Universal Underwriters Group, Reliance Insurance Company and PMA Insurance Company.
Born in Scranton, Pa., Mr. Coyne received his bachelor's degree in political science, from the University of Scranton and his law degree from Duquesne University. In addition to serving on numerous professional and charitable boards, he also had a distinguished career in the United States Army, rising to the rank of captain.
