SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Vendini, the company that makes the business of live events simple with industry-leading software and services, announced it has hit the $2-billion mark in gross sales, only 17 months after reaching $1 billion. It took the growing vendor 14 years to reach the first-billion milestone.
"Several things have enabled us to fill the gap in the ticketing industry which until now has been the underserved mid-sized venue," said Keith Goldberg, Chief Revenue Officer, Vendini. "With recent acquisitions, we've assembled all the software and platform pieces these venues and event promoters need for ticketing, fundraising, subscription sales, logistics, marketing, and patron management. And we've brought aboard some of the best design and programming heavyweights, people with a passion for and a knowledge of the live event industry."
Acquisitions have also expanded Vendini's vertical range. From its start with college and theater venues in 2001, the company now also serves live music events, festivals, electronic dance music and comedy. Vendini's all-in-one solution includes hardware and consumable pieces, such as scanners and RFID wristbands, along with software and services that offer Vendini Members an all-in-one solution that is robust enough to meet all of their needs while still being light switch simple to use.
As a result, says Goldberg, Vendini has closed deals with hundreds of new venues in the past year. It has gained 41 customers in its college-ticketing segment alone. New customers include Cumberland County Playhouse, one of the largest professional theaters in rural America.
Vendini's festival business is continuing to heat up as well, with the addition of exciting new customers including This is Blueprint - one of Western Canada's largest entertainment lifestyle and events organizations, and Atlantic Film Festival (AFF), which annually turns Halifax, Nova Scotia into an international mecca for the celebration of film and the arts. AFF will be using Vendini to help film goers navigate a full slate of events including over 200 films and musical performances during its 36th annual festival this September.
According to Mark Tacchi, CEO and founder of Vendini, future plans lie in leveraging a next-generation platform for scale, and to continue adding enhanced marketing, fundraising and CRM components for all event sub-verticals. "Vendini is making it easy for our Members to create a powerful ticket-selling loop," he says.
