Venda's US Merchants Post 108% Year-On-Year Growth In Jan 2010 Highlighting The Benefits Of The On-Demand Ecommerce Model
ComScore Networks Post 7% Year-on-Year Growth for the Market in Jan 2010
NEW YORK, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Venda, Inc., the world's largest on-demand ecommerce provider, today announced that despite a low January growth figure for online retail sales (7%) as reported by ComScore Networks, a Global Internet Information Provider, there was good news for US merchants on the Venda on-demand ecommerce platform in January 2010 who saw an average year-on-year revenue increase of 108%.
The figure was calculated using the Venda Sales Index, which normalizes revenue across all retail, brand and manufacturer websites on their Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. US brands using the Venda eCommerce solution include Perry Ellis, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Kellwood, Conde Nast, and Lilly Pulitzer that recently made it into Internet Retailer's Hot 100 websites for 2010.
Jeff Max, CEO of Venda, Inc. commented, "2009 was a good year for both existing and new merchants. The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for traffic, conversion and average order value all showed positive increases as a number of revenue enhancing initiatives were rolled into Venda's shared SaaS infrastructure through the Business Upgrade Program including rules-based promotions, behavioural merchandising, flash merchandising and enhancements to our already extensive multi-channel and multi-region capability."
"We look to address every part of our merchants' customer journey from pre-purchase research through to order completion to deliver a comprehensive toolset our customers can use to achieve this level of growth. Our multi-tenanted SaaS architecture now means that new customers in the 51 sites that we launched in 2009 will immediately realise the benefits of the upgrades that have been put into the Venda ecommerce ecosystem, facilitating a fantastic Return on Investment."
Max concluded, "I believe that these levels of economically favourable growth are only sustainable in the continually changing ecommerce landscape through technology that can be continually enhanced like the on-demand or SaaS model."
