NAPERVILLE, Ill., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The GSM Association selected Velocent Systems OneVu™ mobile network monitoring system last week as a finalist for the 2010 Global Mobile Awards, Best Network Technology Advancement category. This year's Global Mobile Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Tuesday, February 16th at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The Global Mobile Awards recognizes excellence, achievement and innovation in mobile communications.
"Our congratulations to all nominees for the Global Mobile Awards 2010," said Rob Conway, CEO and Member of the Board of the GSMA. "Competition for these awards is fierce, with more than 500 entries - including many of an exceptional standard - and a highly discerning independent judging panel to impress; to be shortlisted is quite an achievement. We look forward to the unveiling of the winners at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month."
This year introduces a new award category, Best Network Technology Advance, judged by an expert panel of CTOs from mobile operators around the world. "We are very honored to be a finalist in this very prestigious category," Bruce Peterson, Velocent CEO, said. "We are especially proud of the fact that this is the first time CTOs of mobile operators did the judging and we are extremely honored to be selected as a finalist in this prestigious category by CTOs of member firms. They truly understand that as the topology of the network migrates to IP with Direct Tunneling and soon LTE the requirements change, what used to work just won't, and hence the need for a next generation product like OneVu."
OneVu assists mobile operators in isolating and prioritizing network quality problems that affect customer satisfaction and loyalty. "Mobile internet speed is the determining factor for mobile broadband quality of experience," said Randy Johnson, Velocent VP of Product Management. "OneVu stands alone in its ability to measure peak throughput from the perspective of the customer and isolate problem areas."
Velocent will brief mobile operators at the Mobile World Congress February 15th through 18th on why the expert panel of CTOs from mobile operators around the world selected Velocent's OneVu as a finalist. Mobile operators that attend the briefing will also learn how OneVu can improve their network and the experience their customers receive. If interested in setting up a briefing, please contact Velocent at [email protected].
