Varentec Hires Industry Leader as CEO to Drive Grid Edge Control into Global Markets

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Varentec™, a leader in Grid Edge Control for the electric grid funded by Khosla Ventures and Bill Gates, today announced the appointment of Guillaume Dufossé as Chairman and CEO. The addition of Mr. Dufossé will significantly accelerate the market expansion of Varentec's grid-edge control platform and solutions for U.S. and international electric utilities.

Guillaume Dufossé has over 20 years of experience in the energy industry, where he has held various senior executive positions in ALSTOM, AREVA and Schneider Electric, managing global SmartGrid & Grid Automation business units. More recently, Guillaume has been managing the international operations of SunPower Corp, focusing on large ground-mount solar PV plants and residential & commercial solar systems. Guillaume is a French citizen, and lived for over 12 years overseas, in the US, China and Europe. He holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Supélec, France and MBA from Harvard Business School.
