Van Buren County, Michigan, Residents and Travelers to Benefit From Verizon Wireless Network Enhancements
New Cell Sites Mean Clearer Reception, Fewer Dropped Calls
KALAMAZOO, Mich., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless has activated two new cell sites in Van Buren County, Mich., which enable more customers traveling along Interstate 94 to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell sites, each of which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, improve voice and data coverage along the following major roads:
- Interstate 94 between the County Road 365 interchange to the east and the 62nd Street interchange to the west (south of Hartford);
- County Road 681 north to the Bangor town line;
- Interstate 94 west of Paw Paw from 40th Street west to the intersection of Interstate 94 and Territorial Road, and
- Michigan Highway 51 between the Red Arrow Highway to the north and 72nd Avenue to the south.
"These new cell sites were built to ensure that our customers who travel these roads regularly can continue relying on their phones for staying in touch," said Greg Haller, president–Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky Region, Verizon Wireless. "The most advanced device is only as good as the network it runs on. That's why we aggressively invest in our Michigan network to increase coverage and capacity for our customers and continue to raise the bar in network reliability."
Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed—$5.7 billion on average every year—to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
