"Smart meters are a great start. But smart messaging and smart program implementation help deliver more value to the consumer," said Andy Schechter, account executive for APOGEE Interactive, a leading provider of energy efficiency software to the utility industry. More than 450 utilities across the country use APOGEE's suite of residential and commercial energy analysis tools to engage customers in energy efficiency and customer self service.
Schechter is co-presenting with Penni Conner, vice president of customer care and energy efficiency for NSTAR, the largest Massachusetts-based, investor-owned electric and gas utility. Together, they're conducting an afternoon session for CS Week's Executive Summit group, exploring cost-effective ways to deliver energy efficiency and customer service programs to consumers through online tools and technology gateways.
At NSTAR, Conner is responsible for delivering a cost-effective portfolio of electric and gas programs to 1.4 million customers. This includes responsibility for customer inquiries, billing, metering, credit and collections and energy services. Conner has over 20 years in the utility business and is author of Customer Service: Utility Style. Her most recent book, Energy Efficiency: Principles and Practices, was released in 2009. She holds a BS in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University and is a registered professional engineer.
APOGEE's Schechter works hand-in-hand with investor-owned electric and gas utilities across the country, leveraging APOGEE's online tools and applications to implement energy efficiency programs – programs that achieve measurable results for the utilities and their customers. He brings extensive Internet software and business applications experience to his APOGEE clients, drawing upon his long-time tenure as a software executive working with national accounts.
CS Week 2010 started today and runs through May 28 at the Nashville Convention Center. APOGEE is in booth 134 in the exhibit hall.
