IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- USMobile (USMobile-Inc.com), a developer of private mobile services, today launched Scrambl3 (Scrambl3.com, pronounced "scramble"), a smartphone App for the iPhone and iPad enabling users to make the world's most secure calls and messages (requires iOS 9.2 or higher). USMobile's collaboration with the NSA, IBM® and Apple® has produced the first Enterprise-grade Calling and Messaging App for the iPhone and iPad.
What Makes Scrambl3 So Secure?
"Existing consumer-grade calling and messaging mobile Apps from Blackberry, Skype, WhatsApp, Symphony, Wickr, Silent Circle and others don't go far enough to protect people from hackers seeking high-value information," said USMobile CEO Jon Hanour. "Only Scrambl3 takes the additional, critical, step of creating a 'Dark Internet Tunnel,' – USMobile's Top Secret-grade Virtual Private Network (VPN). In this unique way, communication is 'Cloaked,' or made invisible to those who wish to intercept it," said Hanour, calling the result "the first Enterprise-grade mobile security App."
The consumer-grade products listed above have well known vulnerabilities in their technologies that leave high-value individuals exposed to hackers.
"To overcome the inherent vulnerabilities in existing mobile security solutions, none of which are Enterprise-grade, USMobile developed an innovative approach that routes all encrypted communication through an Enterprise-grade VPN," said USMobile Chief Technical Officer Brad Arant, who led the Scrambl3 development team.
"By placing the encrypted communication, and key exchange between users, inside a Top Secret-grade VPN, an exponential increase in security is achieved, so hackers are effectively shut out," Arant said. "According to NSA's Director of Mobility, if you are not doing it this way (VPN architecture), then you are not secure."
"USMobile's Scrambl3 has implemented the most salient security features of NSA's 'Fishbowl' (secure phone) initiative secure Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) architecture, and has a number of unique characteristics that put it in a class ahead of existing commercial secure VoIP techniques," said Dr. Yuliang Zheng – one of the world's foremost cryptographers and a professor of cryptography at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Professor Dr. Zheng conducted an independent analysis of Scrambl3 (see Dr. Zheng's Analysis).

Scrambl3 Background
From 2011-2013, USMobile's engineering staff collaborated with the National Security Agency (NSA) on a new generation architecture designed for Top Secret mobile communications. Scrambl3 is the world's first and only commercial implementation of this architecture. The NSA, for national security reasons, encouraged USMobile to develop a "Fishbowl-based" commercial secure mobile communication product to help American businesses protect their valuable intellectual property (IP) from theft, with losses estimated at hundreds of billions of dollars because of stolen business secrets and IP.
While USMobile collaborated with the NSA on this new secure mobile architecture, the company then went on to independently engineer its implementation of the architecture and source code; the NSA does not have a "back door" to USMobile's Private Mobile Network.
Scrambl3 Enterprise Exclusively on IBM Servers
USMobile has partnered with IBM to bring Scrambl3 to Enterprises on private and cloud hosted IBM Linux on Power Systems™ and LinuxONE (Mainframe) Systems™ servers. In the first half of 2016, USMobile will launch the world's most secure Conferencing System for Enterprises that require the highest security for conducting Conference Calls and Group Messaging.
About US Mobile

"Soon, people will say 'Scrambl3 me!' when they want to call or text someone with total privacy," Hanour said.
