NORRISTOWN, Pa., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- USM, Inc. (USM), a leader in facilities services and infrastructure management, today announced The 2010 Winter Financial Impact Summit, a new industry event focused on showcasing lessons learned from the historic 2009-2010 winter storm season and offering expert advice on how to strategically manage winter storm activity and reduce expenses for the future. The 2010 Winter Financial Impact Summit will be held June 29, 2010 at The Drake Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The event is co-hosted by Criterium Engineers, Planalytics and the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA).
The 2010 Winter Financial Impact Summit will be a one-day event filled with education, best practices, and innovation from the industry’s subject matter experts that will demonstrate why budgets everywhere were surpassed this past winter and show how a proactive approach can dramatically change winter's impact on business and the bottom-line.
The Keynote Speaker will be Paul Kocin, Senior Meteorologist for the National Weather Services’ Hydrometeorological Prediction Center of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). Kocin, internationally known from his role as Winter Weather Expert on The Weather Channel, is co-author of two preeminent books on snowstorms with a third to be released based upon the historic winter of 2009-2010. Kocin will be joined by an array of accomplished speakers from Planalytics, The Home Depot, SIMA, Target, Criterium Engineers and USM.
“We’re thrilled to bring together some of our industry’s thought-leaders as we review the volatile winter of 2009-2010 and work together to help companies nationwide minimize weather’s impact on their ability to do business,” said Larry Ames, President of USM and CEO of Transfield Services Americas. “We expect The 2010 Winter Financial Impact Summit to be the first in a series of events that will answer questions and offer expert insights and best practices as we forecast budgets and prepare for whatever Mother Nature has in store for us in the coming months and years.”
