Used Cars On-Line Launches 'Exploration Search'

PITTSBURGH, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Used Cars On-Line (www.AUsedCar.com), one of the first search engines for used cars for sale by owner, today launched "Exploration Search", a new way for buyers to search for used cars.  This new tool allows customers to find cars using different criteria than most sites, and discover vehicles they otherwise would have overlooked.

Traditional Internet car buyers have been forced to select a specific make and model of a vehicle.  However, Used Cars On-Line's new Exploration Search allows buyers to search by other factors, such as '4-door car newer than 2004' or 'SUV under $10,000'.  This non-traditional approach lets people explore more options and find the best deal.  "We asked our users what they are looking for when they search for used cars," said Phil Anderson, CEO of Used Cars On-Line. "Many people told us they were looking for a type of vehicle, such as a Minivan in a certain price range, and it did not matter what company manufactured it."

In addition to the new search on the front page of www.AUsedCar.com, there is also a new refinement section after users have run their initial search.  If a user starts out with the traditional query by Make and Model, they can now further refine their search by number of doors, body type, or other factors.  This allows buyers to quickly narrow or broaden their search based on how many cars came back, and they can slice and dice the results to find their perfect car.

While other sites have offered similar features buried in a complex Advanced Search form, Used Cars On-Line hopes to popularize this new way of searching as a standard.  This new approach to search is expected to save the average buyer considerable time in their research.
