FRIDAY, MAY 28: JAZZ JUBILEE
Profile America — Friday, May 28th. Musicians from around the U.S. and Canada, as well as countries from Finland to England have gathered in Sacramento, California, for the 37th annual Jazz Jubilee, on through Memorial Day. Some 70,000 clapping, stomping fans are expected to groove on the sounds of 70 bands, playing in 24 different locations. The focus is on American traditional jazz, but the festival also includes ragtime, gospel, and zydeco, as well as special children's concerts. The roster of musical groups includes 14 youth bands.
