Urgent Care for Kids Expands to Largest Pediatric Urgent Care Provider in Texas
Practice to add four Texas Locations and enter Austin Market
HOUSTON, July 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Urgent Care for Kids announced plans to enter the Austin market and add four new clinics throughout the state. The practice is slated to open two new Houston-area clinics as well as two clinics in the greater Austin area by the end of the summer. Urgent Care for Kids selected these areas by identifying key growth markets where it can respond to increased demand for high quality after-hours pediatric care.
With five existing Dallas and Houston-area locations, the expansion will make Urgent Care for Kids the largest pediatric urgent care provider in Texas with a total of nine clinics and a daily capacity to serve more than 900 patients statewide, without affecting wait times.
"Our goal is to help families avoid the high costs of ER visits for urgent needs that are not life or limb threatening and ensure that their children are treated by providers specializing in pediatrics," said Brian White, CEO of Urgent Care for Kids.
The practice's next Houston-area clinic will be located in the Kroger Marketplace Shopping Center in Spring, Texas. It will be the fourth clinic near Houston and provide convenient access to families living in The Woodlands, Spring and Tomball.
"We've identified a lack of healthcare resources in this rapidly expanding community of young families, and we're eager to supply this area with the amenity of a pediatric urgent care center," White said.
The practice hopes to meet similar needs with its two Austin-area locations, one in Round Rock and one in Cedar Park, which are scheduled to open simultaneously in August.
The Cedar Park clinic will be located in the Cypress Creek Village shopping center. The location was strategically selected to provide convenient access for parents, as it is part of a four-corner shopping intersection that already caters to families.
For its Round Rock clinic, Urgent Care for Kids selected a new retail development that will include the first L.A. Fitness in the Austin area, as well as a Starbucks which is in close proximity to the H-E-B grocery store at RM 620 Road and O'Connor Drive.
"Cedar Park and Round Rock are also rapidly growing communities underserved in terms of pediatric urgent care," White continued. "We are excited to plant roots in the Austin area in order to serve the families as the first after-hours urgent care facility that specializes exclusively in pediatrics in both communities."
Round Rock has been recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau as the second fastest growing city in the nation and the greater Austin area is targeted to become the IT capital of the U.S. The growth from technology and other industries will create an influx of jobs and continue to bring new families to the area.
Additional plans for expansion will be evaluated as Urgent Care for Kids identifies other communities with similar demand for pediatric urgent care.
The details of each location are as follows:
- 3,381 square feet at 24230 Kuykendahl Road, Spring, Texas 77389
- 2,419 square feet at 1525 Cypress Creek Road, Cedar Park, Texas 78613
- 2,500 square feet at 16560 N RM 620, in Round Rock, Texas 78681
- Additional Houston-area location to be disclosed at a later date
