Untold News, an American Non-Profit, Awards $10,000 (U.S.) Each to Israeli Inventors of a Cancer Bullet, a Metal Ligament Prosthesis, and a Bendable Plastic Touch Screen Display In First Annual Ceremony
NEW YORK, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- It was announced today that Israeli Professors Dan Peer, Shlomo Magdassi, and Engineer Idan Tobis will be awarded $10,000 (U.S.) each at the inaugural Untold News Awards tonight at the Harmonie Club in New York City. The winners were submitted by prestigious institutions, including Tel Aviv University, Weizmann Institute of Science, and Technion Israel Institute of Technology, amongst others, to a jury of leaders, including Mr. David Schizer, former Dean of Columbia Law School; Dr. Barry Coller, Chief Medical Officer, Rockefeller University; Tony Tether, former Director of DARPA; and Heidi Jacobus, Chairman and CEO of Cybernet Systems.
The winners are: Dan Peer, who developed the "Cancer Bullet," an injectable form of chemotherapy—showing little to no side effects in trials—targeting only diseased cells, marking the first time nanoparticles are used in clusters instead of individually; Idan Tobis, who invented the Metal Ligament Prosthesis through an arthroscopic procedure that reduces the recovery time from a year to 2-3 months; and Shlomo Magdassi, who invented a Bendable Plastic Touch Screen Display for smart phones, which can be made with a commercial inkjet printer, reducing the number of manufacturing steps by 80 percent.

Our first annual Untold News Awards showcases three amazing inventors whom the jury and I feel will unequivocally make a mark on the global stage."
