Veteran sales executive tasked with driving cloud recovery leader's channel-driven sales
BURLINGTON, Mass., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Unitrends, a leader in enterprise-level cloud recovery, today announced Bekim Protopapa as the company's senior vice president (SVP) of sales for the Americas. Protopapa will leverage his more than 20 years of sales leadership experience at both private and public high-tech companies to boost visibility for Unitrends' cloud-empowered data protection and disaster recovery offerings, increase customer acquisition and drive revenue growth.

Protopapa joins Unitrends from Mimecast, a provider of cloud services for email security, continuity and archiving. In his role as the general manager for North America, Protopapa doubled year-over-year new and upsell revenue while leading a 100-person team spanning sales, marketing, channel, business development, tech support and customer service. Prior to Mimecast, Protopapa was the president and CEO of Cymtec Systems, Inc., a network security appliance vendor. Before that, he worked as the area vice president at Logitech International. Protopapa has also served in various sales leadership positions at companies including Blue Coat Systems, Inc., BladeLogic, Inc. and NetIQ.
