Unisys' Ted Davies Named Executive Vice Chair of ACT-IAC Industry/Government Partnership Group
As new vice-chair, Davies to promote activities to help government IT leaders address critical challenges
BLUE BELL, Pa., June 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that Ted Davies, president of Unisys Federal Systems, was selected as executive vice chair of the American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), a public-private partnership organization dedicated to advancing government through the application of information technology. As executive vice chair, Davies will become the board chair of ACT-IAC in 2015.
"ACT/IAC plays a unique role in facilitating the collaboration between government and industry to address challenges that are multi-dimensional and require cross-functional leadership," said Davies. "I look forward to broadening participation to include more government and industry professionals in acquisition, finance, human resources and other areas to help identify solutions to ongoing challenges that will have a higher chance for successful implementation."
Davies has been active at ACT-IAC for more than 10 years and is a founding member of the organization's Executive Advisory Council as well as co-chair of its Executive Leadership Conference event in 2012.
ACT was established in 1979 by government executives seeking a national forum where they could collaborate with their government peers on issues pertaining to the acquisition, management and use of information technologies. In 1989, ACT established IAC to provide an objective, ethical and vendor-neutral forum where government could collaborate with industry and seek industry-wide advice on key issues. Working together as partners, ACT and IAC offer programs and services designed to facilitate communication, collaboration and education.
Apart from his role at Unisys, Davies is extremely active in the federal IT community and is a Federal Computer Week Federal 100 Award winner.
